Welcome to Vacationland! Stop at Maine's southernmost lighthouse in Cape Neddick at Nubble Lighthouse for a photo and take in the picturesque view near York Beach. From Nubble Light you will also spot the infamous Boon Island Lighthouse, located just off-shore.
Enjoy a wine and cheese welcome reception upon arrival at your south coast Maine resort in Ogunquit, Maine for four nights. Settle into the comforts of the Meadowmere Resort with, beautiful gardens, indoor and outdoor pools, Jacuzzi, pub and movie theater. The hotel is located within a 10 minute walk of the shoreline walking path along the coast and the shops in Ogunquit village. A Maine Tour "Lobsterette" will meet you at the hotel with your souvenir lobster hats.
Dinner included this evening will be at a nearby restaurant.

Enjoy a hot breakfast buffet this morning before you'll then meet your local guide for a narrated tour of Portland - Maine's largest city-by-the-sea. You'll see views of Longfellow's boyhood home, sea captain houses and the elegant Victoria Mansion as you drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay in Portland Harbor. Your tour includes a stop at Portland Head Light. This historic landmark is the most photographed lighthouse in America, set in Fort Williams Park with crashing surf, a beach, and an old fort.

You'll then take a private tour of Spring Point Ledge lighthouse that is not normally open to the public. The lighthouse is accessible via a granite jetty (some uneven footing). You'll see how the lighthouse keepers lived as you walk through the rooms to the top of the two story lighthouse. You can walk out on the ledge at the top for a beautiful view of the Portland waterfront.
Lunch on your own in the restored Old Port waterfront district with cobblestone streets lined with quaint shops and galleries.
This afternoon, you'll board a tour boat for a narrated Portland Harbor cruise. Sail on the calm harbor waters through the beautiful Calendar islands, past forts and lighthouses as you hear the maritime history of Casco Bay.
Dinner included tonight at Dimillo's On The Water in Portland's historic Old Port.

A hot breakfast buffet this morning before you travel to Maine's beautiful mid-coast region.
Your first stop is Maine's City of Ships, where you'll tour the Maine Maritime Museum on the banks of the Kennebec River. The museum depicts Maine's shipbuilding industry from the 1600's to the present. Numerous hands on exhibits, boat building demonstrations, and a lobstering exhibit are here for you to see on the grounds of an historic shipyard.
Travel to Boothbay Harbor where yachtsmen and artists began vacationing here in the early 1900's. Roll up your sleeves and SAVOR THE FLAVOR at a traditional Maine Island bake. Don your souvenir Maine lobster hat when you board The Argo tour boat for a traditional Maine island lobster bake event. You'll travel to nearby Cabbage Island, a private 5-1/2 acre island where a feast of Maine lobsters and clams with all the traditional fixin's awaits. Watch as your meal is cooked in seaweed, steamed from top to bottom, and covered with tarpaulins and rocks in order to capture all the flavor and sweetness of Maine lobsters and clams. This authentic meal includes traditional New England Fish Chowder, two lobsters (or barbecued chicken for any landlubbers), steamed clams, corn on the cob, onion, and new Maine potatoes. For dessert, enjoy homemade blueberry cake with coffee or iced tea. You'll have a bit of free time to explore the local galleries and boutiques along the waterfront after returning to Boothbay at 4:30.

Make your way south and on enroute stop in Freeport for dinner on your own and some free time at LL Bean and a myriad of outlet shops and casual restaurants.

A hot buffet breakfast included this morning meet your local guide for a narrated tour of Kennebunkport. Drive past the sandy beaches and rocky coastline, past the George Bush estate at Walker's Point, hear the history of these shipbuilding towns and the legend of the Wedding Cake House. You'll also visit the seaside Franciscan Monastery with its beautiful landscaping, outdoor shrines and chapel.
Enjoy free time for shopping and lunch on own in Dock Square along the Kennebunkport waterfront. Motorcoach parking is included near Dock Square.
This afternoon, you'll take a 50 minute Maine Lobstering cruise on an 84-passenger lobster boat. Learn how the Maine lobstermen make their living as traps are hauled from the ocean along the rocky coast of Kennebunkport. See the sights as you cruise on the ocean past Walkers Point, the Dark Shadows House and Bumpkin Island, home to a year round colony of sea birds and seals.
Return to Ogunquit and enjoy some free time in town or at the resort before leaving to have your included dinner at a local favorite.
