Witness four majestic waterfalls at High Falls Gorge. Drive to the 2021’ summit of Prospect Mt. for a spectacular view of 100 miles and 4 states. 2:45 pm OLD FRIENDS AT CABIN CREEK, Greenfield Center
Old Friends is a living museum for all thoroughbred race horses, both known and unknown, to enjoy a dignified retirement home, few places of which even exist. The horses are able to frolic in their spacious pastures and live their retirement years in peace. Some even love to greet visitors. Operated by volunteers, a small gift shop and donations help fund this non-for-profit facility.

4:30 pm SARATOGA SPRINGS CITY TOUR
Saratoga Springs is known as "the Queen of the Spas." - Health, Horses, and History. It has a rich heritage as a health resort with 125 springs; was a gambling center with 26 casinos, and military action for much of the 18th and 19th centuries. Area was sacred to the Mohawks who believed the naturally carbonated water had been stirred by the God Manitou, endowing it with healing powers.
In actuality, during the Paleozoic Era, a series of faults or cracks split the underlying bedrock, creating fissures through which water forced its way to the surface. These springs are the only naturally arbonated mineral springs east of the Rocky Mountains.

A casual dining experience with bar, and truly delicious entrees, with their biggest offering is sumptuous prime rib. A local favorite.

7:30 pm DESSERT at MARTHA’S ICE CREAM, Lake George
They come from miles around, and stand in line clear around the parking lot on opening day for the best ice cream in the East! First starting as a chicken farm, it quickly transformed into the best ice cream around. No wonder it’s been in business for 76 years!! The Rooster, when he was alive, would greet guests, thus the insignia of Charlie, the rooster.

Explore this fascinating National Historic Landmark from America’s Gilded Age. Once a private getaway for the wealthy and famous, Great Camp Sagamore is now open to the public, and it rewards visitors with an unforgettable experience that’s uniquely Adirondack!

4:15 pm Gift Shop aboard the Caboose

5:00 pm Raquette Lake Dinner Cruise aboard W.W. Durant
A two-hr cruise aboard the only cruise boat on Raquette Lake, the largest inland lake in Adirondack Park. See homes of the rich and famous of the Gilded Age, and enjoy exquisite food prepared by a Culinary Institute chef.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

7-9:00 am BREAKFAST at HOTEL

DRIVE through ADIRONDACK PARK, the largest park in the United States (6,200,000 acres) to the High Peaks Region.

11:15 am OLYMPIC SKI JUMP COMPLEX, Lake Placid Drive to the base level to check in, use restrooms, visit store, walk to the Olympic Pool and three Ski Jumps, then ride the enclosed gondola (or return to the bus) to arrive at the second level for a beautiful view of the Lake Placid valley and learn about the training programs for potential Olympians. Then ride the indoor 26-story high elevator to the top for the most spectacular view of the entire High Peak Region. Breathtaking.

12:35 pm JOHN BROWN FARM & CEMETERY, Lake Placid
John Brown arrived in upstate New York 1848, as part of a project funded by Gerrit Smith to assist freed slaves in learning to become self-sufficient farmers. In 1859, Brown attempted to start a liberation movement among enslaved African Americans by seizing the arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia (now West Virginia). For this, he was tried for treason against the State of Virginia and hanged. His wife brought him home in an ice-packed wagon and he is buried in the cemetery.

1:15 pm Lunch on own in Lake Placid Village, on the shore of Mirror Lake, with Whiteface Mt. in the background also scaped by serene Lake Placid.

3:05 pm OLYMPIC ARENA, Lake Placid
See where Sonja Henje won her gold, where Eric Heiden won his 5 golds for speed skating, and where US won the gold over USSR for Olympic Hockey.

3:45 pm HIGH FALLS GORGE, Lake Placid
High Falls Gorge is the Adirondacks’ most breathtaking, year round, 30-minute walk. Witness four majestic waterfalls cascading over rocks into a deep crevice carved a billion years ago, learn about all the natural wonders of the waterfalls, and browse the gift shop.

5:15 pm DINNER at HUNGRY TROUT, Wilmington
Arguably the best restaurant in the Region, Hungry Trout sits on the shore of the West Branch of the Ausable River and is known or its delicious trout, for which the restaurant was named.

8:30 pm Return to Lake George hotel.

Mural hanging in the lobby of Queensbury Hotel is the tell-all 14’ painting story of James Fenimore Cooper’s "Last of the Mohicans".

10:30 am PROSPECT MT. SCENIC HIGHWAY & OVERLOOKS, Lake George
Drive 5-1/2 miles to 2021’ summit for spectacular view of 100 miles and 4 states. Once a French and Indian War Redoubt. Now is warm weather scenic drive, in winter is a snowmobile trail.

12:00 pm LAKE GEORGE LUNCHEON CRUISE aboard LAC DU SAINT SACREMENT
Longest running boat company in America - 1819. The Saint sails along shoreline of Lake George for 15 miles, then crosses over and sails homeward another 15 miles, seeing the great mansions of yesteryear and today. The boat seats 1200 people, has 4 decks, and a hot/cold luncheon buffet served with live dining music, followed by dancing and fun.
